Mattress Sale Rescheduled, Guard Practice Cancelled

FCPS has cancelled all activities for Saturday, January 21, due to expected inclement weather overnight. Edison will be closed on Saturday as a result of this precautionary decision.

This impacts our Mattress Sale fundraiser.

The Mattress Sale is rescheduled (now official, following approval by Edison’s administration) for Sunday, January 22, from 10 AM until 5 PM, at Edison. If you are able, please use a black marker to change the signs that you have or that you can get to to reflect this date change. We need your help to be sure the signage around Alexandria reflects this date change!

Additionally, Color Guard practice is cancelled Saturday due to the school closure. The next rehearsal will be Wednesday, as scheduled.

To coincide with the new performing arts wing at Edison, we’re proud to unveil a project that’s been in the works for some time: our new band program website.

Designed to be flexible, collaborative, and to integrate into your existing communications and social media, we’re integrating Twitter (follow EdisonHSBand) along with the other tools you’ve come to rely upon into a robust new WordPress-based web presence. We’re using a great plugin called Disqus that allows you to use your existing social media accounts to collaborate with your band! Hopefully the end result will be easier access to the information and opportunities our students and families want and need.

We’re under construction, but you’ll see significant improvements and changes beyond those already live throughout the rest of January.

Mattress Sale

Edison band is having its first annual mattress sale. Use this downloadable coupon and help us fundraise to travel to Orlando. Parents/Guardians wishing to volunteer to supervise student sign holders should email travis.a.brooks@gmail.com. We need 8 adults for 3 shifts, 10-12, 12-3, 3-5 (24 adults total.)
